Baked Donuts With Vanilla Glaze

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Baked Donuts with Vanilla Glaze – Simple baked donuts dipped with Vanilla glaze and topped with sprinkles

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is healthy and staying safe at home. It’s a tough time and the entire world is going through such a stressful period.

Self-Isolation and Social distancing – as of now, our only option to prevent the spread of the deadly CORONA Virus. We are all in this together and let’s help our leaders in stopping the spread of the disease by staying at home.

Donuts with Vanilla Glaze

Let’s use our quarantine period to spend more quality time with our family, call our loved ones, pick up a hobby, share household chores with your spouse and to take care of our health. COVID19 has slowed us down and made us realize the importance of self-hygiene. Let’s stay calm; Stay safe and Stay at home.

It’s great to be back here. Hopefully, this year I will be more regular in blogging. With all the shops closed, I know many of you will be missing sugary Donuts. This country has exposed me to international cuisine and one of my favorites is Donuts – especially the one filled with chocolates. If you are also like me and miss those sugary treats, then you need to check the below recipe which involves very simple ingredients at the kitchen pantry and it’s baked. Does that sound healthy than deep-fried ones? I adapted the recipe from aseasyasapplepie

Here to the recipe:

Makes 6 Donuts

For Donuts:
  • All-Purpose Flour/Multipurpose Flour – 1 cup
  • Granulated Sugar – 1/3 Cup
  • Baking Powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Unsalted Butter – 2 Tablespoons
  • Egg – 1
  • Milk – 1/3 Cup + 2 Tablespoons
  • Vanilla Extract – 1 Teaspoon
For Glaze:
  • Powdered Sugar – ½ Cup
  • Vanilla Extract – ½ teaspoon
  • Salt – A pinch
  • Any food color
  • Milk – 2 tablespoon
Method:
  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F
  • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Whisk them together
  • In another bowl, add egg, vanilla extract, butter, and milk. Whisk them together
  • Ensure the butter is melted and is at room temperature.
  • Ensure milk and egg are at room temperature
  • Now, combine the wet ingredients with dry ingredients. Mix them together until all the ingredients are well combined
  • Do not over mix or beat it rigorously
  • Grease Donut pan with baking spray
  • Spoon batter and fill each donut cavity to ¾ th level
  • Do not fill the entire cavity with the batter
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
  • Remove the pan once it is done. Allow it to cool down in the pan for 2-3 minutes
  • Transfer the donuts to a cooling rack and let it become warm.
Glaze:
  • Meanwhile, let’s prepare the glaze
  • To prepare glaze, in a bowl, add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, food color and a tablespoon of milk; Whisk them together and if the glaze is too thick, add little more milk
  • Ensure the glaze should not be runny
Donuts with Glaze
  • Dip the warm donuts in the glaze and top them with Sprinkles
  • Let it cool down completely in the cooling rack, around 30 minutes. This gives time for the glaze to set on donuts
  • Enjoy these baked donuts as your breakfast or at coffee time

If you try the recipe (which I highly recommend personally), do let me know how they tasted in comments. If you like space, do like and follow my profile here – Facebook, Google, Instagram
