Gobi Fry | Cauliflower fry – A simple spicy fry which can be prepared in 30 minutes and serves as a perfect side dish for chapati, naan and rice !

Gobi fry1

Sometimes after eating out exotic dishes for few days, all you need is to have a simple food. From morning, I was craving for a simple yet spicy dish. As soon as I returned from the office, I was happy to see that methi seeds which were planted two days back are poking out of the soil. Those tiny little ones made my day!
I had yesterday’s chapati dough lying in my freezer and I all could think off at that time was a quick Gobi fry. Luckily I had gobhi in my vegetable basket. That’s it, chopped them, cleaned and stir fried with spices!
A quick spicy side dish for chapati is ready for dinner

Ingredients:

1 Medium cauliflower/gobi, chopped into florets
1 tsp chili powder (adjust according to your spice level)
    ½ tsp Mustard
    1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
    1 tsp Coriander Powder
    1 tsp Garam Masala
    Salt, as required
    Curry leaves

Method:

Boil water in a pot and add cauliflower/gobi florets in boiling water for 5 minutes.
Heat oil in a frying pan/skillet and add mustard.
Once it pops out, add curry leaves and florets followed by above-mentioned spices
Give a stir, add salt and simmer for 15- 20 minutes
    Serve hot with Chapatis!
