Instant Oats Dosa | Egg Bhurji

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Instant Oats Dosa with Egg Bhurji – A quick breakfast prepared with Oats, rice flour and served with delicious Egg bhurji. Perfect for weekday mornings!

I know many of you hate Oats. But, since my doctor advised me to have it, I bought a pack from Costco and have been experimenting recipes using it. I love this instant dosa as it saves my time in the morning when I am on heels.

I prepared this instant oats dosa and clicked months back. It was in my drafts for so long and finally, it has seen its day. I love eating this dosa with a spicy easy version of egg bhurji.

Here goes the easy breakfast option

Ingredients:

Instant Oats Dosa: (Yields 4 dosas)

  • 1 cups Oats (I use Quaker Rolled Oats)
  • ½ cup Rice Flour
  • ¼ cup Fine Sooji/Rava
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Corn
  • Salt as required
  • Water as required
  • Oil for drizzling

Egg Bhurji

  • 5 Eggs
  • 2 big Red Onions, chopped finely
  • 4 Green Chilies, chopped finely
  • ½  teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • Salt as required
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Method:

Instant Dosa

  • In a blender, add oats and grind them into a fine powder.
  • In a bowl, add powdered oats, rice flour, rava, cumin seeds, peppercorns, and salt. Combine them well and add water little by little to prepare a dosa batter consistency. Ensure there are no lumps in the batter.
  • Heat a griddle on a medium flame. Once the griddle is hot, pour a spoonful of batter and spread the batter into a thin circle.
  • Drizzle oil on the sides of the circle and cook until the bottom of the dosa turns brownish and crisp.
  • Now, flip the other side and cook until the other side turns brownish and crisp.

Egg Bhurji:

  • In a bowl, combine eggs, onions, chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt and combine them well.
  • Heat a Kadai on a medium flame.  Add oil; once the oil is hot, add the egg mixture and fry until the eggs are cooked well. Ensure to stir it constantly to prevent getting burnt at the bottom.
  • Serve Oats Dosa warmly with egg bhurji.
