Karthigai Deepam is a festival which is closer to my heart from my childhood – may be because it is celebrated for my favorite Lord Muruga/ Karthik. It is known as festivals of lights and people used to decorate their houses with lamps and pray to the lord.
It is celebrated on the full moon day, when the moon is in line with the six stellar constellation called Karthigai. This year, it falls on December 12
